is power. As a boat owner, you should know exactly what your
vessel, owned or prospective purchase, is worth. This
information protects you financially, ensuring you are selling for
the right price. As the buyer a survey helps you in getting the most out of your buying dollar and
in enabling you to insure your vessel adequately. You should
discuss your insurance needs with your insurance company or broker.
The vessel length, age and/or rated horsepower will dictate your
insurance needs upon initial purchase. Also, many companies require
an up-to-date survey as often as every 5 years throughout your
ownership.
When dealing with marine craft, knowledge is also safety. Knowing your vessel intimately, beyond its charming good looks,
helps to keep you and your loved ones safe out on the water.
An accurate survey informs you of the potential hazards and any
shortcomings in your vessel's condition, which allows you to address
the problem at an appropriate time. Save yourself from
last-minute surprises by having your sail or power boat surveyed -
before you buy it, after you upgrade it, and periodically throughout
the years.
In the unfortunate event that there is an accident, a qualified
marine surveyor will also be able to report to your insurance
company on the extent of the damage and cause of the accident.
A damage survey will also offer you peace of mind in knowing the
fallout from the seemingly minor bumps and bruises encountered in
the course of enjoying your boat.
Swiftsure Marine Surveyors
specializes in professional inspections of both power and sail
pleasurecraft on vessels up to and including 50 feet. We offer
competitive rates on an outstanding product. Depending on the
size and location of the vessel, a detailed critical examination of
the vessel can take up to 8 hours. Fees are based, however, on
the type of inspection and the vessel length. You are welcome
- in fact, encouraged - to be present at the time of survey so that
any questions you have can be answered and any points can be
explained in detail.

circle of our offices, we will travel to your vessel FREE OF CHARGE.
If the boat to be inspected falls outside of that radius, a small
fee applies.
