Another spring has sprung and with it comes a new old expression
that can certainly apply to the seasonal task of preparing the
vessel for the summer ahead. "To
sway away on all top-ropes" is a colloquial phrase
that means to go to great lengths. It is in reference
to the simultaneous hoisting of all yards and masts on a ship,
which was to sway.

This month's expression is "In prime
kelter" in keeping with the spring theme of getting the boats
ready. It is a term applied to both vessels and persons found
in fine order and well turned out or rigged. I suppose I could
also say that I hope the new website is in prime kelter!
